Next Generation Robotics

Next Generation Robotics (NGR) is a spin-off of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna of Pisa that operates in the field of collaborative robotics for inspection and maintenance in the railway sector. The company was founded in 2020 by 7 partners including professors, researchers, and PhD students with many years of experience in the field of robotics and innovative sensors.

These skills have enabled the development and commercialisation of the ARGO (Autonomous Robotics inspection of rollinG stOcks) product, a device capable of automating the process of inspecting the underbody of railway rolling stock and designed as an enabling technology for predictive maintenance 4.0 logics in the railway sector, thanks also to Artificial Intelligence algorithms.

To date, NGR engages in commercial relations with major European railway companies such as Trenitalia Spa and Deutsche Bahn AG, and thanks to the ARGO product, the company has won numerous national and international awards.
